Nobody Wants to Go First. That Is the Whole AI Story.

Most companies treat AI as a badge, not a craft. Five reasons AI stalls, and why rebuilding GenAI workflows is the only move that pays.

Weathered post-apocalyptic billboard reading 5 Reasons Why Companies Stall on AI, the title frame of a STIRMIND GenAI workflows video.
The five reasons are inside. None of them are the ones that reach the press release.

Everyone says AI is moving fast.

Walk into most companies and nothing is moving at all.

Not because they don't understand it. They understand it fine. The old workflows still run, so the new ones stay on a slide.

I wanted to see the reasons, not just say them. So I built a title sequence: five lines painted on the walls of an abandoned bunker. A row of stopped clocks. A stairwell going nowhere. Each line a real reason, not the one that reaches the press release.

Saying we use AI is easy.
Claiming it costs nothing. Rebuilding the work costs everything. A logo on a deck is not a changed process.

The old way still pays.
Nobody blows up the thing funding the bonus. The current system works today, and today is what gets measured.

Real change costs now.
The bill lands this quarter. The reward lands in someone else's quarter. That math kills more transformation than any technical limit.

Change is scary.
Not the tech. The people. Jobs, titles, the skill someone spent fifteen years earning. Nobody says that part out loud in the meeting.

Nobody wants to go first.
Everyone waits to copy the one who moves. So the whole room waits together, and calls the waiting strategy.

Here is the sequence.

Where AI use ends and AI craft begins

This is the line that matters. AI use is the claim. AI craft is the rebuilt work underneath it. One is a sentence in an all-hands. The other is a changed operation, and it is the only one that pays.

I don't think most teams are behind on AI. I think they're comfortable. And quietly hoping it stays optional a little longer.

The question is how long comfortable stays safe.
